“Popeye”, a Willard Marine 30 is a salty-looking Motorsailer which has won a lot of hearts and turned heads over the years for her cozy appearance and super-economical operation. Her double-ended hull design and heavy displacement provide a secure and comfortable ride. Perkins diesel power, combined with the true full displacement ballasted hull, provides efficient and low-cost fuel usage of .84 gallon/hr at 6 knots cruising. This efficiency results in a range of approximately 700 miles with her two 50 gallon tanks. This Willard 30 is well equipped for cruising, and is a product of American design, ingenuity and craftsmanship. It is constructed in hand-laid fiberglass by the Willard Company in Southern California, known for its many years of experience in building quality custom and production pleasure and commercial vessels to Coast Guard specs.
