General Description
The XP-44 combines impressive performance with simplicity of handling, appealing to all the family.

This model was the first of the Xperformance line to be launched, and was named Sailing World's 'Yacht of the Year' in 2014. A highly optimized hull shape offers exemplary performance in a range of wind conditions, on all angles of sail, under both ORC and IRC handicap systems. Key elements of the hull design include reduced upright beam and wetted surface area, while the transom shape ensures that as wind speed builds and the boat powers up, the overall waterline length increases for additional speed.

Actual Condition
Rig
Mast, John Mast, damaged beyond repair along with all stainless steel rod rigging, running rigging, Ronstan batten cars, Profurl furler and drum, mast equipment; VHF antenna, radar reflector, navigation lights, wind instruments. Stump of the mast should be removed. There is damage to the cosmetic FRP interior headlining around the mast that can be repaired.
The mast base has twisted with the movement of the mast and the cabin sole panel around the mast has been damaged. Remove mast base and check for any damage at the fastening pints, replace small cabin sole panel around mast base. The boom is abraded and will need replacing for cosmetic reasons. The boom vang, by John Mast, should be overhauled. The hydraulic backstay should be overhauled. Shroud to deck fixing points were inspected with no hull/deck external damage noted, further inspection at rig replacement.

Deck
The two forward bulkheads appeared to be in good condition. There is damage is to the bow of the vessel. The windlass appears to have been removed. There is some apparent delamination to the starboard side deck. The bulkhead is cracked on the inside as seen at the aft end of the STB berth. The damage extends over the side deck, into the cockpit siding and also into the lazarette framing on the STB side.

Hull, Keel, Rudder, Saildrive
The bow section of the hull, forward of the forward bulkhead and which contains the anchor locker will need some repairs. The engine has been checked visually. It appears no indication of corrosion, sump in particular inspected, oil checked emulsification, none noted. Engine mounts will need to be inspected.

Cockpit
There is damage to starboard side of cockpit from aft bulkhead to transom.

Interior
Rain water and possibly some sea water entered through the damaged deck and have affected the starboard side below the damaged deck. Most of the interior lining and trim of this cabin will require replacement. The locker forward is largely undamaged but will require some refinishing.
The mattress in this cabin is damaged and should be replaced. The starboard side of the saloon was checked by removing loose equipment, covers etc. The area was found to be dry; boat manuals behind the settee seat are dry, electrical equipment shows no corrosion, etc. All cushions and mattresses should be cleaned; the entire interior should be deep cleaned. Outer glass door on oven damaged, door should be replaced.
