Location
Only 3.5 km(minutes) from the property, in the center of the world famous wine region of Chianti, is the picturesque historical town of Gaiole in Chianti. Ideally located between Firenze and Siena and also close to famous towns like: Certaldo, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and many others. In the surroundings of Gaiole, it is possible to take beautiful walks, hikes, or go horseback riding and cycling in the splendid countryside. There are also many established “Castle Routes” radiating out from Gaiole which make for a great half or full day excursion.
Gaiole is easily accessible via the Florence-Siena highway or via the Chiantigiana road; one of the most fashionable roads in Chianti, which stretches over 70km of a panoramic landscape dotted with villages, castles, rolling hills and vineyards.

Gaiole in Chianti had its origins in mediaeval times as the market to the Castles of Vertine and the Castle of Barbischio, and was one of the foundation towns of the Chianti League. -The Badia a Coltibuono, formerly the principal abbey of the area but now a winery with a popular restaurant. They offer tours of parts of the former abbey and the reconstructed italian garden.

- The walled village of Vertine, In mediaeval times, Chianti was dotted with tiny, walled in borgo villages like Vertine but now there are few remaining intact. Vertine and Montefioralle are fine extant examples of what was once the most common form of inhabited nucleus in Chianti.

- The Castello di Spaltenna and its parish church are another classic example of a Tuscan fortified settlement consisting of a monastery (previously a castle), a parish church and a cluster of farmhouses. Spaltenna is now private property but some parts of it can be visited.

- The Castello di Brolio belonging to the family of Baron Ricasoli, is an important participant in the formation of a united Italy and the inventor of the first Chianti Classico wine grape formula. Parts of the castle can be toured, and the gardens and ramparts can be visited without a ticket. The views towards Sienna are spectacular.

This wonderful 15th century Gaiole Country House is ideally situated in the famous wine region of Chianti, near the Castle of Meleto, only 3.5km (only minutes) from the town center of Gaiole in Chianti.
This huge estate measures a total of 2.37ha (5.8 acres) of land and comes with a large piece of surrounding forest that includes a beautiful gravel road for horseback riding and leads to the river. Also includes many diverse fruit trees.

The property is currently undergoing renovations, all brand new electrical appliances and connections have ben established as well new finishings, paintings and restorations have been completed. Only needs decoration and furniture.
Gaiole Country House consists of three independent buildings: the main villa, a guesthouse/independent apt and an annex. The 3 buildings:

The Main Villa: offers a total of 428 m2 (4606 sqft.) and is spread over 3 floor levels plus a basement level wine cellar, that are distributed as follows:

The ground floor: Entrance through 3 huge windowed French wooden doors that create a spectacle of colors and shadows when the sun shines through them. As you walk in the house towards your right you will find the kitchen attached to a huge dining room, towards the left you will find a reception room/salon with a chimney and across from there a cozy living room with many sofa coaches and a guest bathroom behind it. Behind the staircase is a bedroom with its bathroom.

The building is longer than taller and is divided into the 3 different sections that have the potential to used in any way desired.
