Lead Buyer - Singapore

Role Summary:
To demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will use your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, support procurement process standardization, and effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Responsibilities:
Achieve lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs
Solicit and evaluate proposals employing appropriate negotiation, cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizations; implement purchase contracts following applicable company and government regulations
Evaluate current and anticipated requirements, determine potential sources, obtain bids, and plan programs to meet business needs
Provide coordination and leadership in procurement activities for assigned commodities
Responsible for assigned commodities to meet the requirements of the business
Perform continual market analysis and monitor supplier progress
Coordinate training of suppliers to accomplish business initiatives
Coordination procurement of assigned commodities to meet the requirements of GE
Coordinate, help direct, as well as perform, all required functions from initiation of an intent to purchase through to satisfactory delivery of material or services
Assure that material/services will be delivered on schedule, at negotiated price and meet required quality standards
Initiate necessary action to assure best value is received, customer delivery requirements are met, and address any manufacturing problems at supplier’s facility
Identify and eliminate leakage, non-preferred, & non-compliant spend patters

Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a Sourcing environment)
At least 3 years of experience in a Sourcing position, including negotiation involvement & closing techniques
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Oracle and Sourcing application of Oracle or SAP
Self-motivated with demonstrated results
