Lenno is an important centre of the western shore of Lake Como, situated between the promontory of Lavedo and Portezza. This lakeside area is known as Tremezzina, which ends at the Maiolica. Archaeological excavations in the area of Tremezzina reveal the Roman origins.
Attractions:
The Church of St. Stephen and Baptistery, the Monastery of Acquafredda, named after the source of water that springs in the churchyard, was build in the twelfth century and rebuilt in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Villa Balbianello is a beautiful eighteenth century villa owned by the FAI from 1988 and has been the location of famous movies like Star Wars, Ocean Eleven and Casino Royale.
Lenno has many facilities such as restaurants and bars, supermarkets, banks , shops, pharmacy, and Lido di Lenno which is famed in the area and which overlooks the wonderful Venus Bay.
