Actual Condition

It is unknown as to how the mast broke at the spreader base holes (stress riser) as the fracture was sudden and lacking evidence of pre-existing fatigue or corrosion. Both spreader bases were fractured. The mast scratched the starboard hull on several areas.

This 23' Pearson was in good condition and absent of any chain plate issues otherwise. The Pearson is equipped with a running backstay. The standing rigging was in good condition absent of any failures. She will need some cleanup and cosmetic work throughout, but would be a great vessel for day sailing once the work is completed.
