This 234’ Polar Expedition Cruise Ship is one of the most popular style of vessels currently used in
Antarctica and the Arctic. Originally built as an ice-strengthened research vessel in Finland in 1982,
she was refurbished in 2001 and converted into a passenger ship for expeditions to polar regions.
Her excellent reputation for polar expedition cruising is due to her strength, maneuverability and size.She is small and nimble, being able to sail up close to landing sites and venture where other, larger ships can’t go. ACCOMMODATIONS
There are comfortable accommodations for 54 passengers plus crew. All cabins have outside
portholes plus ample storage space. The spacious bridge is always open and the decks are ideal for
viewing. There is a combined bar/lounge/library area stocked with a good collection of polar books.
There is a dining room, lounge and other public spaces.
CABIN DESCRIPTION
On board you will find a range of accommodation types, including triple and twin cabins as well as
larger suites, all featuring outside facing portholes or windows and ample storage space for your
gear. Cabins have either shared or private bathroom facilities, while suites offer en suite bathrooms
and lounge areas.
The most deluxe cabin, the Captain's Suite features a separate sleeping area and lounge room, a
private en suite and large windows for optimal viewing opportunities from your own cabin. Only one of

Mini Suite
Only two Mini Suites offer a more spacious cabin with a separate sleeping and sitting area as well as
a private en suite and large windows to enjoy the views from the comfort of your own cabin. Perfect if

Twin Cabin Private Bathroom

Twin Cabins with private bathrooms are located across two deck levels, both with easy access to
outside decks. Each cabin accommodates two people and offers the convenience of private bathroom

Twin Cabin Shared Bathroom
Twin Cabins with shared bathrooms are all located on Deck 3. Surprisingly spacious, each cabin
comfortably sleeps two people and are only a short distance from the ship’s public bathroom facilities.
Outside decks are accessible from this deck. Cabin Numbers: 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 307, 308,
309, 310, 311, 312, 313.
Triple Cabin
Only two Triple Cabins with shared bathrooms. Two lower bunk beds and one upper bunk bed.
Perfect for friends or families, or for solo travellers who are happy to share their space with fellow

Conclusion
The 234’ Polar Expedition Cruise Ship is perfectly suited for use as a boutique Polar Cruise Ship, as
well as for support escort, patrol or guard operations. Its ice class hull and excellent overall condition
make it a good candidate for an expedition yacht conversion.
The ship is presently located in Northern Europe and available for inspection by appointment. Dry
docking and inspection/survey for Class were last completed in mid-2019. It is in Class and fully
