1989 Albemarle 247 - Completely updated and ready to go. This is probably the most bang for your off- shore fishing buck on the market today. The current owner has had this boat since 2005 and has maintained it meticulously. This boat regularly fishes 30 to 50 miles offshore. This design is regarded as one of the best riding head sea hulls available in a 24-foot boat. The owner has purchased a larger boat to accommodate his granddaughters, who have fallen in love with fishing, and is currently a two-boat owner.
The boat was repowered during the summer of 2018 with a Michigan Motorz new, not remanufactured, 5.7L (350 cubic inch) Vortec Base Marine Engine. The repower included new Barr exhaust manifolds, and a new Volvo Penta power steering cylinder. The sound deadener on the engine cover was also replaced during the repower. The engine utilizes the Volvo Penta throttle body injection system from the previous engine. The engine is flushed with Salt-Off immediately after each trip. Fuel capacity is 120 gallons.
A Minn-Kota 72-inch, 112 lb. thrust Riptide Ulterra trolling motor with spot lock was added in 2017. The original Ulterra power trim module was replaced with the updated and improved power trim module in 2019. This unit makes dropping and retrieving the anchor a thing of the past.
Electronics include a Garmin 94sv with down view and side scan, a Northstar Explorer 550 GPS chart plotter, a new Standard Horizon VHF radio, and an Azimuth 1000 digital compass. The Garmin Gladiator autopilot is installed but is not currently working due, we think, to a pump issue.
The trailer was custom built for the hull in 2005. The brake actuator was replaced in 2017. The axles, brakes and brake lines were replaced in the fall of 2019.
The pump for the Aqua-World live well was replaced in January 2020. Two new cranking batteries were installed in March 2020.
Other upgrades and features include hydraulic steering to replace the original rack and pinion steering, replacement captain’s chairs, replacement navigational lights, a Penn manual downrigger, Rupp outriggers, and a complete eisenglass enclosure.
The owner is motivated and will entertain a reasonable offer.
