It is a couple of miles from Pontmain, the second most important place of pilgrimage in France, after Lourdes, and within easy reach of the Mont St Michel and the Normandy landing beaches.




Within 15 to 20 minutes drive there are a number of large towns including Fougères and Saint Hilaire du Harcouët with hospital facilities and large shopping centres. It takes 1.5 hours to drive to the property from St. Malo, less than 2 hours from Caen and up to 2.5 hours from Cherbourg. It's 3 hours from Le Havre, 4 from Dieppe and around 5 from Calais and Boulogne. Low cost flights, by Ryanair from Stansted to Dinard, FlyBe from Manchester or Southampton to Rennes and Aer Lingus from Dublin to Rennes, are also an option. Paris is easily accessible from Laval via the high speed TGV rail system.
