The village of La Tzoumaz is a charming family resort in winter and summer. It is sometimes referred to as North Verbier due to its close proximity to the famous ski resort. From La Tzoumaz, the massive 4 Valleys or Verbier ski domain (of 412kms of piste) can be directly accessed from the village gondola. The local ski area offers 55kms of piste accessible from La Tzoumaz or Verbier. As a north facing resort, the snow conditions hold until the late season. In the winter there are various sporting activities, including skiing and snow boarding, tobogganing, ski touring, snow shoeing and skating. In the summer, there is hiking, fishing, mountain biking, swimming, climbing or paragliding. The northern slopes of the 4 Valleys are famous for the bisses or irrigation channels and walks to include these make for a refreshing day out enjoying the flowing water and the beautiful views.
