Jugaste, her name literally translated into Spanish means “you played”.

 The name Jugaste has affectionately been crafted using the first initials of the names of the current owner’s three lovely girls and so appropriate for this Contessa, which can be playful under sail in all sorts of weather conditions.

 After making her way to Alaska and with her second owner, she made the voyage south, along the pacific coast of Canada and the USA ending up here in La Paz, BCS Mexico where she found her third and current owner Giovanni.

 This Contessa 32’ is one of 87 built in Toronto Canada by J.J. Taylor of Canada under license from the original British builder, Jeremy Rogers. The Canadian Contessas' differ from the British built in a few areas notably having taller rigging, tiller and wheel configurations, more GRP moldings in place of wood and a corematt deck which replaced a solid deck.

 She will comfortably, quickly and safely sail you to all the amazing anchorages along the east coast of the Baja Peninsula. From La Paz and the famous Isla Ispiritu, up the coast stopping at the quiet and secluded bays of Isla San Francisco, Agua Verde, Puerto Escondido BCS and many, many more.

 She has a complete sail selection, all the electronics a boat her size needs and has been immaculately cared for over the years.

 “I found the boat very easy to handle in all the variable conditions we find in the Sea of Cortez, from very light winds ( it can sail with a light Genoa in two knots of wind) to winds up to 30 knots.

 The boat, when beating, heels to about 20 degrees but is impossible to get the railings underwater. In heavy weather she can sail with a reefed main or just the Genoa. As a matter of fact, with only a 135 percent Genoa she can tack into the wind. The boat gives you total confidence, it does not matter what the wind and sea conditions are.“
