\"Cool Change\" is a solidly designed and strongly built Ontario 32 sloop. The Ontario 32 was designed by C&C Yachts and was built by Ontario Yachts of Burlington, Ontario. Ontario Yachts sold 158 Ontario 32s. \"Cool Change\" was built from a kit supplied to the original owner. Two surveys are available that attest to the quality of her construction. Photos are available of the stages of construction. \"Cool Change\" has a 4’ 3” shoal draft keel and a cruising rig.
\"Cool Change\" can be singlehanded. All lines lead to the cockpit. The she has an autopilot. All four winches are self-tailing. She is beamy which gives more room below than most of her contemporaries of the same length. This would be a good boat for a couple with two or three children seeking to cruise or day sail in safety and comfort. Four adults can be accommodated. Ontario 32s have good headroom down below. She is powered adequately with an economical 21 HP Westerbeke diesel.
She has solid fiberglass construction in her hull and her deck. This type of construction offers strength and eliminates core problems. Her hull and deck are built to last. The exterior Imron paint on the hull is in excellent condition. She has relatively high bulwarks capped in handsome natural teak. The teak is in very good shape and looks “salty.” The bulwarks, the lifelines, the handholds, the railings, and the above average non-skid surface of the deck give her a higher margin of safety for going forward while under sail than similar sized yachts.
\"Cool Change\" has a moderate rig and a modified full keel which makes her easier to sail solo or shorthanded in rough conditions. She has a traditional hull design that gives her reserve buoyancy to help deal with large waves. The T-shaped cockpit is deep and protected. \"Cool Change\" has a foredeck anchor locker and a beefy double anchor roller which makes it easier to use her two anchors for greater overnight security. Ontario 32’s have sailed the Great Lakes, New England, the Chesapeake, Florida, and the Gulf of Mexico. \"Cool Change\" with her shoal draft lead keel, is suitable for gunkholing in the Bahamas.
Only health issues motivate the family to reluctantly offer her for sale. They cruised and day sailed her for 17 years. She has only had two owners, one in Michigan and one in Ohio. \"Cool Change\" is in the water and available for inspection and test sail.
