The hull was designed in a more modern fashion than other Catalina models during that era, with full sections improving room below and a wider deck above. Underway, the C34's moderate to light displacement matched with a long waterline and large sail area, ensures good sailing performance at all points. 

The interior is the most praised aspect of the 34. The most room for the money, appearing in a majority of reports and owner reviews. Interior space has always been a strong selling point with all the Catalina's. Hard to beat for sheer interior volume.
