PRELIMINARY INFORMATION SUBJECT TO OWNER'S APPROVAL
This boat has to be seen to be believed. The owner purchased SERENADE and started having improvements made, things customized, replaced... One of the other brokers in my office said, \"It's like they lifted the mast up and slid a new boat under it\". The mast, boom deck and hull are original- though the deck and hull have been painted and look like new. When the hardware, grab rails, etc. came off to paint, new hardware was put back on. Hatches and ports replaced. Might as well put a new windlass on, right?
The bottom was stripped and barrier coated. There weren't any blisters when he bought the boat- he just wanted to do it \"while they were at it\". Since they were doing that, let's have them replace all of the thru-hulls. Same thing with the topsides thru-hulls. Custom stern rail and swim ladder..
Chain plates, up-sized standing rigging, furler, mast step, running rigging, sails...
Replaced the fuel and holding tanks and hoses. Water is fiberglass integral to the boat, so it got to stay. Converted the stove from alcohol to a Force 10 propane one, including two custom fiberglass LPG lockers at the aft end of the cockpit. New cabin sole, custom (gorgeous) dinette table, foam and fabrics... A Herreschoff interior would look nice, right?
\"I might as well put in a new engine- everything else is new\", he said to me a few years ago.
Normally I would consider listing five or ten \"highlights\", but in this case it's essentially the whole boat. \"I'm never going to sell this, so I might as well make it the way I want it\", he said to me on more than one occasion during the refit.
Look through the pictures, look through the inventory and you will see. It's a truly stunning boat.
If you love classic fiberglass boats this one is absolutely a head turner. Call, make an appointment and come see her for yourself. She speaks for herself.
