“CURRENT PRICE” IS A GUIDE. ALL OFFERS RESPECTFULLY CONSIDERED. General Description
The performance driven Leopard 38 is at the heart of the Leopard line. With her generous sail plan and stepped hull design, this yacht provides excellent performance! On deck, the space is well thought-out and usable. From the large transoms, to the open and spacious aft side and forward decks, getting around this yacht is easy and safe.
The hardtop bimini over the cockpit provides superior protection from the elements and also offers a stable-working platform. BRUMBY is looking in great shape. She has lots of space for a 38-foot Catamaran both above and below deck. She has great sailing performance with sheets: all run to the helm and reliable under motor with Yanmar engines. Large water capacity.
It is reported this 38' Robertson & Caine was damaged in Hurricane Irma in BVI. The boat was blown from her stands and came to rest on her keels and rudders.
The hull topsides, which are foam core, have elevated to high-moisture readings on the starboard hull below the chain plate from the cove stripe to the boot top. Tap testing indicated de-bonding in this area. There is a visible “halo” in this area with discolored gelcoat showing that this is a previous repair. What appears to be a recent repair, has been made to the starboard side of the hull, inboard of the keel.
There are multiple scratches and impact damage on the hull topsides. Multiple areas of stress cracks, mostly near the rub rail. Laminate cracks in the hull to deck flange. The aft port quarter port needs to be re-bedded. The rub rail needs replacement. The port rudder will need to be replaced and the bearings inspected on the starboard rudder.
There are stress cracks in the deck where the hard top post are mounted to the deck. Laminate damage to the cabin top where the mast step is located. The port forward mid-cleat has pulled away from the deck causing gelcoat damage.
The port lifelines are damaged and most of the stanchions and aft pulpit are bent. The hard-top is damaged in multiple areas and will need to be removed from the boat for repair.
The mast and all standing rigging need to be replaced.
Structural repairs have been made to the interior of the hull but should be inspected carefully.
Two cracks in the laminate were sighted in the port engine compartment; one on the hull side opposite of the rub rail, where the rudder shaft penetrates the hull, there may be other damage in this area.
Please inspect carefully before making any offer.
No statement of condition can be made regarding motors, engines or machinery, whatsoever. A photo may appear of the engine compartment and machinery, but it is entirely the buyers responsibility to inspect and determine their actual condition.
