This impressive and unusual rural house, set in two and a half hectares of cork oak woodland was built in 2006 on the site of an existing ruin and incorporates some of the original stonework, including the remains of the bread oven. The unique design utilises traditional regional materials and features, with contemporary elements, to create a house which sits sympathetically in its environment.

The house is built in an L shape and includes three bedrooms which are currently used for a Bed and Breakfast business. These three good sized bedrooms, all en-suite, have direct access from the outside. In addition, there is a small lounge for guests use, which, having internal access from the main house, may also be used as a guest bedroom for the family.

The main house comprises a large open-plan living room/dining room and fully fitted kitchen ; an entrance hallway with fitted bookshelves and office space; a small guest bathroom with shower; and a master bedroom suite which includes a bathroom with bath and separate shower, and a dressing room area. This bedroom has direct access to the patio and pool.

Stairs from the kitchen area lead to a mezzanine floor, currently used for storage, which could alternatively be used as an office.

A patio with swimming pool and covered eating area offers stunning views over the surrounding countryside, stretching as far as the Monchique mountains.

Accessed from the patio is a machine room which houses the washing machine and boiler and provides additional storage.

The whole house has gas central heating, the main lounge area has an inset fan-assisted log burner and there is an air-conditioning unit in the master bedroom for cooling and heating. All rooms have tv / satellite and phone points. Hot water is supplied by a solar panel, with electrical back-up.

The property has a 3000 litre Plastepur septic tank and its own water supply from a borehole, with a water-filtration system. There is also a large well on the land.
