Actual Condition
It is reported this 40' Shock was taken in trade. The current owner has too many boats in his inventory and must sell her. She is a \"light project\" which means she's been sitting in a Long Island yard for last 3-4 years on her own factory-made trailer and shrink wrapped. She will need to be rigged again for racing.
The following work has been stated:
-Aft rudder is taken out to change bearings, most likely only bottom bearing; choice is Jeffa Danish bearing, cost is about 632 euros
-Forward rudder is still there, steering quadrant is dismantled for service
-Complete hydraulic system of canting was taken out and sent to Texas professional hydraulic shop for rebuild. This shop is experienced in this type of repair
-Main cylinder ram needs to be rebuilt with new seals polish, new rod, manifold rebuilt and resealed.
-3 Solenoids new, manual pump sealed, electric motor checked, selector valve hose fittings SS new. It is estimated that the total cost of this will be $5,500; system is still in Texas
-Two round hatches on the deck, the Lexan needs to be changed
-Batteries are complete, but not tested
-Battery charger
-Deck gear is complete
-Mast is carbon installed in 2012 and has complete standing and running rig
-Sails where not checked, but the previous owner reported there is one set of racing condition sails and many others, as boat has last race in 2016; sails are stored in dry
-Inside bilges need sanding and paint to look pretty and clean; same with teak floors
This is great opportunity to buy super-fast light weight boat (speed recorded of 29.8 knots from previous owner). The boat can be short-handed and raced with 4-6 crew.
She has no damages or delamination; just needs some love from a fellow racer.
She is a sleeping beauty that can be turned into a diamond.
