General Condition

The fin keel and skeg rudder combination on this boat are well proven. The stowage is more than any other 40- footer around in an offshore hull -shape. This is one of the boats that came out after the blister/resin issues that plagued earlier models. Sail Magazine selected the Valiant 40 as an \"Offshore Cruiser of the Decade.\"
 
Actual Condition
It is reported this 40' Valiant suffered water intrusion due to a bad intake hose fitting. The water levels compromised the engine, generator, A/Cs, fridge, and other lower components. Several systems are in need of a refit with many components inoperable. The engine has been removed and Genset is inoperative. Some electrical work and cosmetic wood work refinishing is needed.
The hull, deck, and bulkheads are reportedly in good structural condition. The interior has been cleaned and dried. The topsides and exterior will need cleaning and all systems should be inspected prior to use. This is a great hull for updating and will be a boat that can take you anywhere you'll ever want to go...Make your bid!
