(LOCATION: Tarpon Springs FL) This Morgan 41 has Charles Morgan design and comfortable accommodations. She has a spacious cockpit, large salon with full galley, and sleeps six. Whether you are planning a weekend getaway or a cruise to the islands this Morgan is ready to accommodate. This boat looks fabulous for its age!
Practical Sailor review --
The Morgan 41 sloop is arguably one of the best looking of many lovely dual-purpose sailboats that the Cruising Club of America handicap rating system engendered. One owner described his boat as “a Bermuda 40 for a regular Joe, only prettier.” Designer Charley Morgan traces the cruiser-racer’s heritage, particularly below the waterline, back to Olin Stephens’ famous Finisterre, and Comanche, a 40-foot centerboarder built by Wirth Munroe, son of famed sharpie designer and South Florida pioneer “Commodore” Ralph Munroe.
On deck we have a aft cockpit with bimini, dodger, ample seating, and teak table for alfresco dining and entertaining. She has a pedestal helm with stainless steel wheel and Danforth compass. There’s an aluminum mast and boom with full batten main, roller furling genoa, asymmetric spinnaker, and stainless steel rigging.
The interior is warm and inviting with teak trim and teak & holly sole. There is a large v-berth forward with under-berth storage and hanging locker. The enclosed head compartment has head and vanity with stainless steel sink. A large open salon salon features a convertible dinette with settee / single berth. Aft we have an L-shaped galley to starboard with nav station and quarter berth to port. Interior comfort is maintained by Cruise Air reverse cycle HVAC.
Auxiliary power is provided by a Perkins diesel engine. This Morgan is well equipped, carefully maintained, and ready to sail. The previous owner took great care of her: newer chain plates, A/C, windlass, decks removed and refastened in 1992 and lots of upgrades. Please note this beauty is an original Morgan 41 and not the later more spartan Out Island. You have to see her to appreciate her, call now for more information and to schedule a showing of this Morgan 41.
