The best description of this great design was published by PowerBoat Guide. To paraphrase them:
The Carver 444 is a cockpit version of Carver’s 396 Motor Yacht with the same interior, a little more fuel 404 Gallons and the added versatility of a 60-square-foot cockpit. She’s a beautiful yacht to say the least, with stylish lines from stem to stern and interior finishing and craftsmanship one would expect from Carver. On the inside, the 444 is a stunning display of interior volume unmatched in a yacht this size. The salon – a most impressive aspect of this yacht – is immense with a panoramic outside view and almost seven feet of headroom! The full-beam salon was created by raising the side decks to eye level, which makes her appear to have so much freeboard. The two-stateroom, galley-down floor plan is arranged with double berths and separate stall showers both fore and aft. Topside, wing doors and a hardtop protect the aft deck, and there’s plenty of flybridge seating. The cockpit provides a great swimming and diving platform while the transom door makes her easy to board from the stern.
