Marco Polo is one of the last of the venerated 46 that Beneteau produced before changing their line. She was built in Marion, SC for the current owner who had it fitted out with Beneteau's highest upgrades and options. The owner, who is a naval architect and engineer himself, spent the first couple of years performing short cruises and inland and offshore races all the while fitting her out for extended bluewater cruising. The owner has put in over $160,000 in upgrades over the $430,000 factory list price which includes extensive factory options.

Marco Polo is a well-proven solid, fast, comfortable, and exceptionally equipped bluewater cruiser. She is swift and surefooted under sail with a reinforced rig that has a highly customized and efficient cutter sail plan and carries six bags of sails for various sailing options. With a shoal draft of 5'7\" and mast height of 62.5', Marco Polo can handle the ICW bridges with no issues and is the ideal boat for both offshore and inshore cruising.

With four electric oversized winches and all lines controlled from the cockpit, she can be safely handled by a couple. The cockpit also has a stout canvas system with many zippered options giving the crew flexibility for maximum year-round comfort, protection and visibility. She is spacious, comfortable and has a beautiful interior with lots of wood, two cabins, generous storage, a large aft master suite, ensuite heads, a well-equipped galley and expansive salon, all ideal for entertaining and long cruising.

She is self-sustaining and free from the dock thanks to wind generators and solar panels that can keep the large house battery bank topped up, a watermaker that makes unlimited clean fresh water, a generator that can power all electrical needs, and a large fuel reserve. She has extensive state-of-the-art navigation and communications systems to enable safe worldwide cruising and has all the latest safety systems for safe passages anywhere. She comes equipped with a large inventory of electronic and paper charts and cruising guides.

Marco Polo has a substantial operating and maintenance spares inventory for all major systems on board, enabling repairs and maintenance to be performed as needed at any location. She also has documentation of all the systems on the boat in paper and electronic format, enabling the new owner to easily become familiar with all of her systems.

Marco Polo was last dry docked in 2017 and had a complete bottom paint job and a new rudder bearing, cutlass bearing, and dripless shaft seal was installed.  Marco Polo has a diver inspection and in-water bottom cleaning on a 45-day schedule.
