ENGINE HAS JUST BEEN RUN AND MECHANIC SAYS GOOD
The Cal 3-46 is the last in the Cal 46 Series. It is a collaboration between Bill Lapworth, a famous designer and legend in yachting circles, and Jensen Marine of South California. Introduced in '63, the Cal 46 hull design, a modified full keel for sea-keeping and a spade rudder for maneuverability, remained unchanged throughout subsequent modifications. Instead they focused on interior improvements and livability...the final modification, the 3-46, achieves the ultimate balance of performance and comfort.
This vessel is being sold as a project, \"as is\", because the previous owner passed while the main cabin was being updated. Only the main cabin upper half needs attention, as the for and aft cabins are original. There are no heads as I assume he was prepping for new installation.
The engine has just been run for a client, and has been given a thumbs up by a certified marine mechanic performing the work. This deal just keeps getting better.
The standing workshop in the engine room is a big plus afforded in a vessel of this size.
The last owner has purchased two new heads, but not installed.
This vessel is located in beautiful San Carlos Sonora, Mexico, A short 250 mile drive on a safe 4 lane highway from Nogales, Az. San Carlos is a known boating destination/community, featuring breathtaking scenery, quiet anchorages nearby, great fishing, diving, two marinas, 3 haul out facilities and much more.
