     Only every so often does a vessel of this pedigree come to market. The Halvorsen Family moved to Cape Town, South Africa in 1924 and then Lars and his son Harold moved to Sidney, Austrailia in 1925 to built boats (the family came later). From 1925 to 1980 they built over 1500 vessels for individuals and the military. In 1960 Harvey Halvorsen (Lars' Grandson and Harold's Son) became the company designer and in 1975 he partnered with Joseph Kong (former American Marine General Manager) to form Kong & Halvorsen. Over the next 2 decades they built 100's of vessels from 34 to 134 feet under the Kong & Halvorson, Island Gypsey and Halvorson names. In 1985 Joesph Kong passed away and the Halvorson family has continued building. At present over 900 plus Halvorsen influenced boats have been built in China and exported. This vessel is one of five reported of her type built.

     This vessel was stored indoors for approximately 6-years and recommissioned by Jarrett Bay Boatyard in 2013.  This is her 5th owner.  Third owners had her for 13 years, 4th owners bought in September 2013 at 1380 hours and current owners bought in November 2014 at 1577 hours.  All manuals and records are on board.  Overall cruising over the last few years she has averaged 1 nautical mile per gallon. Her currant owners have decided to move ashore and allow this beautiful vessel to continue to cruise.
