General Description
The Shannon 52 Global uses the sea-tested Shannon 47/52 hull. The addition of a wheelhouse with an \"almost conventional\" cockpit behind will enable people to get out of the weather - sun, rain, cold, or heat. For the times with good conditions, there is a second outside helm along with a large sitting area.

One person is able to raise, reef, or lower both sails just by pressing a button. A lot of people go for displacement trawlers for long distance cruising to avoid the work and the open cockpit effort found on most sailboats.

While the popularity of displacement trawlers is understandable in the abstract, the reality of total reliance on mechanical equipment just isn't right. And the ride is a lot more comfortable on a sailboat than a trawler, with its gut-wrenching rolling motion in any kind of a seaway.

The Bitchin 52 is being designed and built to be a comfortable boat for a couple to cruise easily and in safety anywhere in the world. The Shannon 52 has all the comforts of home and a comfortable place from which to sail the world in a safe environment using as little outside energy as possible.

The 52 Shannon was popped out of the mold on 2009, but it has not been registered. Therefore we can say that the year is to be determined. Call us for more details.

Actual Condition
Hull is completed. Deck is on the hull, engines are in the hull. Interior bulk heads are in place. Miscellaneous parts have been removed from storage facility and are now located in our Mendon, MA Boatyard in a storage trailer.

Equipment
A trailer is not included in this sale.

Engines
New Yanmar 4JH4-TBE, four stroke, vertical, water cooled diesel engines. They are turbocharged and use an intercooler. They are coupled with their KM4A2 2.63 reduction gearing.

The Phasor K3 9.5 HP generator uses three cylinder Kubota diesel and runs 1800 RPM. It outputs both 120 and 240 volts, and 9500 watts power.
