In December 2007 both motor boating and yachting magazines included the Hattie 53 on their lists of the 12 best-designs of all time; they note respectively that the \"spacious and comfortable Hatteras 53 is a true classic with ageless lines and a seaworthy hull\" and \"Jack Hargrave is at his best on the Hatteras 53\".

Actual Condition
This is a very well-maintained Hatteras. It is reported she has had upgrades throughout her cruising life and is well-equipped and ready for use.
