Bowden Brae

Nestled in bushland just 30 minutes drive from the centre of Sydney, Bowden Brae offers quality low-care accommodation and services for those in need of respite care. A comfortable, secure environment has been created where the focus is not only on the care provided to residents but, more importantly, on the residents themselves. A comprehensive range of personal services is available including optical, dental, auditory, podiatry, aromatherapy, massage, and beauty treatments. The village has a library which is staffed by self-care residents, a kiosk which is run by volunteers, and a hairdresser is on site five days per week. Residents enjoy many social activities, including bus trips. Day therapy is held on Thursdays and Fridays and this includes craft activities, weekly ‘friendship hour’, and a monthly luncheon. A barbecue in the courtyard is available for use by residents and their family. Regular church services are conducted and our chaplaincy team is available to offer support to residents and their families. Public bus services are available on Pennant Hills Road and Normanhurst train station is a 10-minute walk from Bowden Brae. The village bus is available fortnightly to take residents to Hornsby's shopping precinct which is approximately five minutes' drive.
