The historical estate was built at the beginning of the 1900s and is delightfully unique. It was a fashionable hunting lodge for Mussolini and family retreat for the famous airman Vasco Magrini who was one of the most important Air Force pilots in the First and Second World War.

Later it was bought by the famous Finzi Contini family from Ferrara, who transformed the villas into private libraries where they used to spend their time reading in complete privacy and quiet. In 1954 the present owners bought the estate to leave city life and be able to live in the wildly romantic nature of this area, so secluded, yet not far from the most beautiful artistic cities of Tuscany.

The estate runs the small farm that produces organic extra virgin olive oil produced with the cold – press method and strictly following genuine Tuscan traditions. The current owners organise olive oil production workshops for groups led by experts. The property has the ideal microclimate for olive trees to thrive.
