Quaint finca from Grimm's Fairy Tales for sale near Tarifa, Andalusia, Costa de la Luz!

If you have the money and want to live the life of a recluse or if you are a painter, a writer or simply in love with nature then you have to buy this beautiful little farm high above the village of Facinas and near the pristine beaches of Bolonia, the site of the historic roman town of Baelo Claudia, “considered to be the most complete roman town ruins yet to be discovered in Spain” (Wikipedia). After passing a winding dirt track up the mountain (in total 1.7 km) all of a sudden the the terrain opens into a flat and shallow valley. The 28.000 m2 (7acres) finca covers almost all of the valley and is surrounded by natural stone walls and fences. The finca is south-west orientated and offers spectacular views unblemished by electricity masts, cables or wind mills.

The natural stone exterior of the completely renovated farm house blends perfectly with the rocky outcrops against which the building is leaning. The cottage embraces a small patio (about 5 x 5 meters) on three sides. Entering the cottage to the right is the spacious, rustic and very comfortable lounge with open plan kitchen, dining area and log fire place (about 40 m2 or 440 sqf) The central part of the cottage includes a bathroom with sunken bath tub, a bedroom built into the overhanging rocks and a covered barbecue stand. From there, turning left is another bedroom with a shower bath en-suite. The third bedroom completes the accommodations. The approximately 120 m2 (1,350 sq f) cottage is lovingly furnished and decorated and satisfies all needs of day to day life. Near the cottage is an original bread baking oven and further up in the garden is a beautiful 8 x 4 meter swimming pool with sun terrace and breathtaking views.

There are about 80 orange trees in full production, many different fruit trees and a herb and vegetable garden. All the area around the cottage and the pool is grassed and interspersed with colorful flowers. The larger part of the finca is dedicated to pastures for horses or donkeys. The present owner installed a state-of-the-art solar cum windmill power station providing uninterrupted electricity throughout the year. The water comes from a spring in the mountains and besides providing water for the cottage fills the pool and waters the gardens and trees. There is satellite TV and telephone with the possibility to connect internet. The nearest village with shops, banks, pharmacy and restaurants is Facinas and can be reached in under 10 minutes. Gibraltar airport is about 45 minutes away and even a day trip to Morocco is no effort.

And if you are worried about neighbors, don't be as there are thousands of hectares of the Natural Park of Los Alcornocales (cork oak trees) surrounding the farm and the nearest neighbor is about 2 km away.
