JOB TITLE
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER – HONG KONG

An opportunity exists for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a leading consulting firm based in their Asia Pacific offices. Providing first class engineering services, from design to planning to corporate advisory services, our Client is consistently associated with ground-breaking projects across the globe.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will survey, investigate and analyse ground foundations

Accountable for the production of design solutions and drawings, covering a range of project requirements from new build to modification, maintenance, refurbishment, foundation design and coordinating civil or structural engineering with geotechnical assessment

Ensuring all rock slope stability, excavatability and earthworks material acceptability assessments are collated, construction supervision for geotechnical works including large scale earthworks, piling, soil nailing, rock bolting, and tunneling

Analyse retaining walls for deep excavations with single and multilayer struts, cantilever contiguous bored pile wall, pile foundation, mat foundation, PIT test, instrumented pile load test and technical report writing

Prepare Geotechnical Interpretative Reports and input parameters for the analysis of soil structure

You will be working with Contractors and advise and support them with respect to geotechnical queries and constructability/programme driven design changes

You will be supporting colleagues and/or directly manage project-scoping, designs, and provide contractual documents.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical), Masters would be preferred
Minimum 3 years experience
Experience working for a major international consultancy would be advantageous
Good communication, time management and interpersonal skills
Highly self-motivated, good working attitude with a high level of professionalism and integrity
Good team player and adaptable to a dynamic environment
Fluent in Cantonese and English.
