Another town located in the south eastern part of Malta is Fgura. Although the town dates back to the Phoenician era, most of it was built during the 1960's. The town is located very close to the three cities and its northern borders reach the Cottonera Lines. The town is very populous and lively during the day. One of the town's main attractions is the main church which is famous for its irregular shape. Unlike other churches in Malta, this one has the shape of a huge tent. The patron saint of Fgura is Our Lady of Mount Carmel and a feast dedicated to her takes place on the second Sunday of July every year.
