The property consists of a large historical building called “Romitorio”: the monument looks like an articulated complex made up of different aggregate volumes built during different historical periods and initially used as Romanesque church (with underlying crypt) of San Salvatore in Sasso, dating back to approximately the year 1000.In the middle of the XIV century, opposite the church there was built a two-floor monastery, consisting of a big building, like fortress, with a dining hall on the ground floor and three large rooms for convent use upstairs. At the same period there were built other small buildings and boundary walls around the courtyard or cloister, and was also made the well cistern for rainwater collecting. The main and additional structures of this period are in pure medieval Gothic style.The total usable surface of the complex is 700 sqm.The property is surrounded by about 9 hectares of woodland; the part with tall trees consists mostly of oak trees. On the territory of property, near the main complex, there is a source of water which is still the only source of water supply. There is total privacy on the territory, and in general, the place is magic. Dr. Domenico Rossi, the author of manuscript describing the history of Romitorio, says that this site was chosen “because of the nature smiling to everybody, because of the land endowing with life energy usually perceived by people. That vital energy comes from the depth to surface and pulsates in veins of the earth just like blood ... "

Corciano, a town in the province of Perugia, situated on a hill, is included to the list of the most beautiful villages of Italy. It is easily reached from S.G.C. E/45, exit Corciano. The center of Perugia is just 15 km away while the airport Sant'Egidio, which offers international round-trip connection with London, Brussels and Barcelona, is just 20 minutes by car. For roof and flooring only recycled materials were used. The conservative restoration was performed using the ancient techniques of construction, it means that the entire complex still retains the charm and beauty that it has seven centuries ago.As for the state of repair, Romitorio is in a good condition, there are no serious cracks or splits. The roofs were completely rebuilt. But it will be necessary to restore internal living areas with careful interventions conservative character because of presence of original architectural features such as old ceilings with wooden beams and tiles. There are a lot of original materials, all of which can be reused, especially with a regard to original tiled floor, in addition to cobbled and stone slabs in some zones of the ground floor.

L'apThe water supply is guaranteed by presence of the ancient source of water located within the territory of the property. Also there is a large cistern for rainwater collecting inside the cloister. Electricity is already present. The heating system is absent. As for the disposal of waste water it was made an imhoff pit.

The property is regularly registered at N.C.E.U. for the municipality of Corciano and at N.C.T. for the same municipality.

A private individual owns the property.
