Location:

In southern Crete where the mountains dominate you will see cosy villages and small hidden sandy and shingle beaches. The mountains rise immediately from the coasts. There is no trace of the hustle and bustle of the north eastern tourist coasts, many km away. There are no real luxury hotels on the south coast, but many small holiday homes for rent and small hotels that blend in to the landscape. Western Crete and southern Crete are a paradise for ramblers, mountaineers and nature lovers, but not for luxury lovers.
