It is one of the oldest villages in the area and used to be a center for wine distribution. Now it is surrounded by farmland. There is a very nice beach in Nopigia as well as a camping site. The village used to be the location of an ancient city.

The best thing to enjoy here, is the solitude and the opportunity to make a relaxing walk with nice views over the sea to the Gramvousa peninsula and maybe end it with a good meal in the local taverna. You might bump into someone with a fishing rod on a rock. The area is green and it is still the property of the local people. Tourism has not really been developped here.
