La Ferme de la Croix is one of the few original farmhouses remaining in the Chamonix Valley. Dating back to 1800, it has been totally renovated to provide modern accommodation whilst retaining its original charm and character. It can be accessed either via the main entrance hall or via a lobby to the side which can be used for ski boot storage. There is also a boiler room and a large workshop/double garage on the ground floor, which could be converted to additional habitable area such as a sauna, gym or office.

Outside, the property is very private and has a good size (level) garden, a large single detached garage with a driveway providing parking for several cars. There is also potential in a beautiful stone barn dating back to 1800 which is set out on two levels both with original vaulted ceilings.

The property benefits from the rare advantage of having an unlimited building co-efficient (ratio of habitable surface to square meters of terrain) which means that, subject to the normal planning regulations, additional habitable surface could be built (e.g. an additional double garage or ancillary space).

Our opinion
This farmhouse is almost unique in the Valley. Rarely have buildings of this nature been so lovingly renovated with such attention. It offers flexibility of accommodation in that it could be a single dwelling or chalet with independent apartment and has nice, private grounds.
