The Villa was built in the second half of the 1500s for Giulio de 'Medici, First Knight of the Order of the Knights of Santo Stefano and appointed by Cosimo I Medici as First Admiral of the Fleet.

The Villa is one of the few villas, located in the province of Pisa, built and inhabited by the family of the Medici.

The Villa is an imposing building in the late Renaissance Florentine style. Built on two floors plus the large wine cellars, two turrets and surrounded by about a hectare of park with centuries old trees.

The Coat of Arms on the front of the Villa suggest that it was built by the Franco-Belgian Architect Francavilla.

The current owners purchased the property in the early 1970s and have completely restored it to its former glory.

The Villa is a large building of two floors, with very large cellars below and two square turrets on the front. The ground floor is raised about three feet off of the ground and is accessed by a few stone steps on the front side and two short flights of stairs made of terracotta decorated with stone at the back. Upstairs is reached by two flights of L-shaped stairs in stone, which branch off from the bottom of the entrance hall and reach a large hallway that serves as an imposing entry to the upstairs part of the property which is entered through a large wooden door of the period.

The ground and upper floors form separate large apartments each of which is spread across the two wings of the property. The property can however be used as one large home.

At the rear of the upper floor there are two large terraces of more than 70 square meters each. There are also two separate apartments within the mezzanine level, one on each wing, which have been perfectly restored, and are located under the balconies, Each apartment is approximately 80 square metres and provides excellent guest accommodation.

In the cellars there is ample storage with concrete vats of wine, one of which bears the date 1788.
