Kastos island is one of the smallest islands of the Ionian Sea, with a population of about 50 permanent residents and an area of 5.901km². It is S.E. of the island Lefkada and 6 miles from the port of Mitikas in Aitoloakarnania. The nearest airports are those of Agrinio, Patra and Preveza. There is daily transportation by boat from the port of Mitika, for those who don't own their private sailboats. The island is full of olive trees and has only one village, amphitheatrically built around its' port, with traditional stone-built houses and taverns serving fresh fish.
The plot of 485.394,00sqm is on the N.W. side of the island, on a small hill, reaching down to sea level, a very privileged position offering magnificent view of the nearby islands Kalamos, Ithaka and Lefkada. The area is under great development during the last few years, after the sale of the legendary island of Scorpios to the famous Russian tycoon, and has become very fashionable due to the islands' beautiful beaches with crystal waters, traditional villages, hospitality and tasteful food.
