JOB TITLE

Principal / Senior Engineer (Geotechnical) - *** Hong Kong

Our Client is a leading consulting firm on all continents with established offices in the Asia Pacific region. They provide renowned services in engineering, design, planning and corporate advisory services.

Currently working on various civil and infrastructure projects in Hong Kong and projects covering the Asia Pacific region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will survey, investigate and analyse ground foundations for projects including Tunnel Ventilation, Underground Investigation, Fire Strategy Modeling
Review and assist on design solutions and technical drawings and coordinate civil or structural engineering with geotechnical assessment
Ensuring all rock slope stability, excavatability and earthworks material acceptability assessments are collated, construction supervision for geotechnical works including large scale earthworks, piling, soil nailing, rock bolting, and tunneling
Analyse retaining walls for deep excavations with single and multilayer struts, cantilever contiguous bored pile wall, pile foundation, mat foundation, PIT test, instrumented pile load test, reclamation and technical report writing
Prepare Geotechnical Interpretative Reports and input parameters for the analysis of soil structure
Liaise regularly with Contractors/Client and advise and support them with respect to geotechnical queries and constructability/programme driven design changes
Throughout Construction process, monitor site progress and attend to unforeseen geotechnical issues, quality control and recommend construction sequence
You will be supporting, instructing and managing team and/or directly manage project-scoping, designs, and provide all contractual documents

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Degree or above in Civil Engineering or related discipline
MUST be Chartered Member of recognized affiliation, HKIE, ICE, IStructE or equivalent
Minimum 10 years working experience
Geotechnical experience covering: shallow and deep foundations, piled rafts, deep excavations, underground openings in rocks, slopes
Expertise in numerical analysis/modeling and application of software such as PLAXIS 3D, 2D, FLAC 2D, PHASE, SLOPE/W
Highly self reliant, good working attitude with a high level of professionalism and integrity, proficient leader
Fluent in Cantonese, English, Mandarin is advantageous
