Regis Seaside Manor - Sandringham

As the only stand-alone low care residence in Victoria, Regis Seaside Manor always has something new and exciting going on. The latest addition to our busy program is yoga.

The fortnightly program concentrates on improving posture, breathing and stretching. The benefits are already excitingly evident, with residents sitting up straighter, breathing better and positively light on their feet. Yoga is the extra spark injected to the already busy lifestyles of our low care residents.

Most have grown up in Sandringham, the Melbourne bayside suburb they affectionately know as 'Sandy'. So visiting local shops means more than simply shopping. It's a chance to chat with proprietors they may have known all their lives. They've also grown up on the coast, so they appreciate our pristine neighbourhood beach.

Not surprisingly, the beach is a huge hit with all our residents. They love the liberating escape it provides, especially those magnificent views across Port Phillip Bay's glittering waters.

Seaside offers every resident real independence. Those who are less-active get out in company with our lifestyle assistant, borrowing books at the library, visiting the post office, the newsagency and supermarket. In short, whatever they fancy doing.

Excursions are part of the fabric of life here too. From our monthly lunches at atmospheric pubs like the Half Moon Bay Hotel to day trips to the city, Williamstown and Ballarat.

Back home, everyone joins in recreational programs appropriate to their needs and personality - perhaps relax with a hand massage, listen to music, have the newspaper read to them or go for quiet strolls in our lovely gardens.

This lush, fully-secure area surrounds a shady central courtyard popular for barbecues in summer and, because our trees are deciduous, equally lovely for warming sunlight in winter.

Life is enlivened by a consistent stream of visiting community groups. Volunteers conduct an array of different social events and clergy visit for our regular church services.

Residents especially look forward to hosting students from St Kevin's College and Our Lady's Sacred Heart College of Bentleigh who come to spend one-on-one time chatting, playing cards and doing puzzles.

There's no shortage of celebrations either, from weekly entertainers to our monthly happy hours, plus extra special occasions like two recent 100th birthday parties.

Seaside Manor residents are also able to take advantage of the following services on offer:
