JOB TITLE

SENIOR ENGINEER *** HONG KONG

A prestigious and international Consultancy is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the East Asia team based in Hong Kong.

They are a multi-award winning firm, renowned for providing high calibre engineering design solutions, with a particular flair for the unique and challenging.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will examine risk factors and advise on improvements of structural integrity
Review plans, specifications and any special provisions. Investigate problems and accommodate for alternative solutions
Analyze structural building calculations and strengths of materials and how their inclusion may change the structural design
You will attend pre-construction, pre-fabrication and progress meetings during the project assembly
Calculate pressures, stresses and strains due to human use and environmental forces
You will have strong communication skills, ability to prioritise and manage time and work schedules
Submit drawings, plans and specifications to Contractors
You will be working closely with Clients, Contractors and must be able to communicate succinct ideas, designs, methods, and solutions
Liaise with designers and architects to agree on safe and aesthetic design concept
Coordinate all work from initial planning
You will supervise and direct the team and perform quality checks throughout the project.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
At least 15 YEARS plus of experience who has reached Technical Director level
Strong Client facing and Service orientated skills
Ideally designing for contractors and / or has worked as a designer for specialist geotechnical contractors as part of their experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal ability
Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese; fluent in Mandarin is advantageous
