This spectacular oceanview home is located on the west-facing coast of the Azuero Peninsular between the communities of Torio and Quebro, about 1.5 hours drive south of Santiago. A 5 minute drive in the other direction, the village of Mata Oscura has a small shop selling basic groceries and you can also get your propane gas tanks refilled there every Wednesday. Next door to the shop is a small local restaurant. There are two new restaurants planned to open by the end of the year within a 10 minute drive of the property; one on the beach at Morrillo and one at Punta Duarte, which will be offering quality international cuisine.



The village of Torio is a 15 minute drive away and has two bar/restaurants serving a good selection for lunch and dinner, a beach bar, and a small bakery. There are two Italian restaurants planned to open there later this year.



The principle town of the region, Mariato, is a 25 minute drive away and is the centre of the district government offices, and has a bank with ATM, two larger stores selling groceries, wines and beer, hardware supplies, building supplies etc. There is one gas station, a health centre, two pharmacies, and various small local restaurants.



For additional shops and services, Santiago is the nearest major centre and is one and a half hours drive away. If you are not familiar with the town, there are large well-stocked supermarkets, hospitals and health clinics, hardware and building supply stores, electrical stores, auto centres, several banks, hotels, restaurants, bars, etc. There is a new shopping mall being built now that will be opening in 2014 with additional supermarkets, clothes stores and so on.



The ex-pat community is growing slowly and there are a dozen or so international neighbors within a few minutes drive, and a few more located on the way to Torio and in Torio itself; nice easy-going people who are here for the beaches, surfing, fishing and relaxed living.
