The small village of Tasarte is located in the ravine of the same name and occupying its entire length, consists of a core main called "El Palillo" and several scattered villages on both banks to its mouth. Located in the southwest of the island, within the so-called "massif of the Southwest" three of whose ranges form the basin of the ravine. Northeast Inagua-Ojeda massif forms the headwaters of the ravine and complete a typical ecosystem in areas of medium height, with several species protected both animal and vegetable, highlighting among the first peak Woodpecker and between plants and blue Finch Canary Island Pine with a large population.

Several mountain ranges that separate this ravine with 'Tasartico', 'Las Aneas' and 'Los Vallecillos' and which highlights the 'Esloa mountain' of great geological interest because of its almost perfect pyramid shape are linked by the Western margin. By the East-Southeast massifs Veneguera and the dry ravines bordering extends stressing therein the height of 'Los Molinos', where is located the ancient volcano of the same name.
