Locality: Naxxar
Naxxar is a town in the northern part of the island covering an area of 11 kilometers square. It is said to be one of Malta's oldest towns, and recent discoveries like cart ruts link the town to the pre-historic times. The town's parish church is dedicated to Our Lady of Victories, and the feast of the town is celebrated in September every year. Naxxar is very lively during the town feast. The parish church is decorated in bright festive colours, and the streets are echoing the sound of the brass bands playing. Some other places of interest in Naxxar include the Palazzo Parisio, as well as the numerous defense towers and fortifications dating back to the knights of St. John.
