Castillo de Aro is a Spanish municipality in the region of Baix Emporda , formed by Castillo de Aro, Playa de Aro and S'Agaro . It belongs to the province of Girona, in the autonomous community of Catalonia, to the north of Barcelona.

Castillo de Aro (Castell d' Aro ) is located on the Costa Brava. Calonge to the north, the west bordered by Santa Cristina de Aro, and to the south Sant Feliu de Guixols, and to the east the coast . Castillo de Aro spread over the north of the Aro Valley, a narrow plain drained by the river Ridauras and located between the Sierra de Cadiretes and the Southern Highlands Gavarres.

Playa de Aro (Platja d' Aro) was originally a small fishing village on the road from Palamos to Sant Feliu de Guixols located on a large two kilometers long beach . It is now a town packed with hotels and tourists and other premises for holiday use. It is a very touristic destination with plenty of amenities such as restaurants, shopping malls, and a lively nightlife.

It is located near the center of Saguaro. It is 105 km drive along Barcelona's northern coast taking the C-32 and there are both toll and toll free roads to arrive.
