MAIN HOUSE is 2500 square feet. About half of the house is screened in and the remainder is large covered decks that surround the whole house The house was built during the winter months of 2001-2003. This house would be difficult to build now as the native hard woods that I had custom made at Isla Popa mill are not available as the the lumber mill has been closed for several years. The house sits on 44 large nespero posts in cased in 1'' crushed rock so they will never rot. The floors and stairways are also nespero. All the Canya fistula dimension lumber was dried for 1 1/2 years and then given 2 coats of exterior varnish before framing. There are several hundred Simpson seismic steel brackets used through out the framing structure. Most of the built ins and pantry are done in beautiful tobacco. The large deck benches are done in coco mono and were so heavy that it took 11 workers to carry them from the lift to there location along the 60 feet of the tri-level deck. Also the unusual channel wood posts add much beauty used in other rooms of the house. The spacious functional kitchen is located with a nice view of the aqua water below. The tile work is nicely appointed in the bedrooms as well.

GUEST HOUSE is of similar construction as the house. The view of the jungle from the bedroom is especially nice. We give our guests a choice of the guest house or the guest bedroom. Jorge, our carpenter and watchman, for the last 12 years stays in the guest house when we are absent. Jorge is an amazing person, totally honest, good English skills, competent boat driver and very pleasant to associate with. Jorge helps to make our Solarte off the grid living a wonderful experience. Jorge would be available to the new owner if requested. The guest house would make a nice rental unit and here is plenty of room on the lot to expand to a B and B idea.
