Emmaus Village

As the first provider of aged care in Queensland, Wesley Mission Brisbane has a long and proud history of providing high-quality, resident focused aged care in a nurturing and supportive environment. With more than 950 residents living across 13 aged care communities in Queensland, Wesley Mission Brisbane is a leader in aged care.

Emmaus Village is a low-care residential aged care community set within Wesley Mission Brisbane’s Wheller Gardens complex at Chermside.

Emmaus residents enjoy all the services and benefits of being part of the wider Wheller Gardens community that is home to over 350 residents across 4 communities.

Emmaus houses 58 rooms, made up of five separate courts, connected by adjoining walkways, allowing residents to feel a sense of space in a secure and safe environment. All rooms are single and equipped with a private toilet and basin, a chest of drawers, comfortable chair, built in wardrobe, dressing table and fittings for a television. Ceiling fans and reverse cycle air conditioning are also provided.

With dedicated and caring staff, Emmaus provides an active staff training program to continually allow staff professional and personal development. Registered Nurses are available 24-hours a day. All team members are committed to providing flexible, quality and holistic care and work in partnership with, and alongside, those in our care to help them realise and maintain quality of life.

Visitors are welcome at any time and are encouraged to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with residents in the communal areas.

Allied Health Sevices are available to our residents including physiotherapy, podiatry and nutritional advice. Residents’ personal physicians are also welcome to visit Emmaus for in-home visits.

Other services available on-site include: a bowling green, library, hair salon, family cafe, chapel and community hall. These facilities place an emphasis on well-being and enjoyment, and bring a strong sense of community to Emmaus.

Wheller Gardens is opportunely located within easy access to public transport, Westfield shopping centre, multiplex cinemas and restaurants.
