Description:

The perfect holiday hide-away or bijou residence.

An ideal starter home for those wishing to embark upon a new life in Brittany.

A picturesque traditional cottage in the centre of the village of Saint-Congard and two hundred yards from the River Oust, part of the Nantes/Brest canal system.

The area surrounding is a network of designated footpaths and cycle routes traversing some of the most beautiful countryside in Northern France.

Boating and canoeing on the river is permissible and there are many historic and pre-historic places of interest to visit nearby.

Spectacular beaches at Penestin are 50kms to the west and the incredible standing stones of Carnac just 70 kms.

The pretty mediaeval town of Malestroit is 8kms north where can be found many restaurants and bars. There are also three large supermarkets and a variety of the usual Chemists, Newsagents and other shops. A large, open air market takes over the town square every Thursday.

A drive of about 135 miles from the ferries at Roscoff or 90 miles from St. Malo will bring you to the historic village of Saint-Congard.

The cottage, which is believed to be about two hundred years old, is on two floors and is constructed of traditional stone under a slate roof that was completely replaced approximately ten years ago.

Downstairs is a modern kitchenette with good floor and high level cupboard space, a refrigerator, washing machine and built in microwave combination unit.

The living room, though quite small, faces out to the town square and has plenty of shelving and a built in unit for T.V., music centre and more.

The original staircase leads upstairs to two bedrooms, both of which have doors from the landing and also another leading to the bathroom that is fitted with hand basin, toilet and shower cubicle.
The hot water tank is also housed in a cupboard in the bathroom.

These three rooms all have the original wooden floors and the master bedroom faces out across the village square.

The smaller bedroom of the two is furnished with a pair of bunks but is currently being used as storage.

There are plenty of power points throughout.

Telephone and Internet are connected.

Outside there is a small flower garden each side of the front door and tarmac parking for two/three cars.
