"Ivan Court" is owned and operated by The Vasey Housing Association, N.S.W with experience in the NSW retirement industry since 1962.

Situated just a few kilometres from Maroubra Beach, "Ivan Court" consists of 39 self-contained one bedroom apartments and is conveniently located opposite a small group of shops.

The village opened in 1971 and is named after Major General Sir Ivan N. Dougherty CBE, DSO Bar, ED who was an Australian Army Officer during World War ll. Sir Ivan was Chairman of Vasey’s Board of Management from 15/6/1961 to 31/1/1962, and then served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 24/8/1966 to 8/10/1968.

The average apartment size is 43sqm and all are secure, well appointed and feature a separate bedroom, kitchen, living/dining area and bathroom, while window screens, carpet, light fittings, a phone line, Digital TV antenna and monitored fire alarm (including smoke and heat detectors) are standard inclusions. Some apartments may also include city skyline views and/or an enclosed balcony.

The village also provides shared laundry facilities and limited garaging under a separate lease agreement.

The Vasey Housing Association, N.S.W. is a not for profit organisation. It was founded by Jessie Mary Vasey, widow of one of Australia's most distinguished soldiers, Major General George Alan Vasey, CB,CBE,DSO, who was killed when his aircraft crashed in the mouth of the Barron River near Cairns.

Jessie was a pioneer in the fight to obtain justice for thousands of war widows. This led her to form the national War Widows Guild of Australia and, in 1959, The Vasey Housing Auxillary NSW.

Vasey's aim is to provide quality affordable apartments and property management for single persons over the age of 55 who wish to enjoy an independent and dignified style of living.

A small team of dedicated staff and a Board of Directors willingly give their time and effort to ensure the high standards of the Association are maintained.
