JOB TITLE

RESIDENT ENGINEER - *** HONG KONG

An affluent opportunity exists with our client seeking a Resident Engineer to oversee projects in East Asia based in the Hong Kong office.

You will be working on large and prominent projects with an International Company who is a leader in pioneering engineering methods and project management.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

• You will perform all technical duties in planning, designing and co-coordinating projects

• You will oversee projects, maintenance of structures and compile reports regarding the work progress

• Liaise with site Contractors, sub-contractors, inspectors, project administrators and schedule work production

• Ensure that all materials and equipment used meet the required specifications

• Ensure all work meet exact specifications of Client

• You will be reviewing all documents and produce work reports accurately

• Provide technical advice regarding the design, structures and construction
• You will estimate quantities and cost of materials

• Ensure and overcome problems to avoid delays on construction progress.

DETAILED You will be responsible for construction projects, large and small, requiring multiple disciplines. This will include supervising work progress and scheduling, reviewing all documents, contractor bids, designs. You will liaise with Contractors on site and be accountable for the quality construction in accordance with plans and to Client specifications.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline

• Chartered Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in Civil Engineering or any other recognized affiliation with OVER 8 years post-chartered experience

• Able to organise, manage and administer all site matters on a day-to-day basis
• Ability to solve problems

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and excellent commercial awareness

• Ability to build and maintain new Client relationships

• IMMEDIATE availability is advantageous

• Fluent in Cantonese and English, Mandarin is a plus.
